About Cupping

Cupping is an ancient and powerful tool used in many cultures across the world to treat a wide variety of conditions. A cupping session entails the placement of glass, bamboo or plastic cups on the body with a suction force to pull toxins and stagnation from the deeper parts of the tissue layers to the surface. It can essentially be thought of as a "reverse massage", where instead of pressure being applied to the tissues of body in a downward motion, the suction of the cupping pulls the tissues upward. Cupping sessions can be a stand alone treatment or combined with acupuncture.

Cupping is applicable to anyone who is experiencing:

  • Muscle soreness, tension or chronic pain.
  • A need to detoxify the bodily tissues and increase circulation in the body.
  • Common colds, respiratory issues, allergies and other immunity issues.
